A Great Day in South LA is a Black-owned, woman-owned company offering curated Black history tours of South Los Angeles. We host small-group and private tours for visitors and locals alike, including school groups, senior groups, family reunions, and community organizations. Led by a local guide and South LA resident, experience South LA through engaging storytelling that highlights the people, places, and lasting contributions that shape Black Los Angeles.
Crenshaw District Tour
2.5 Hours – $65 per person (Book Online)
This signature Black history tour of South Los Angeles explores the cultural core of the city and offers an engaging, accessible introduction to Black LA history and community life. The experience is primarily a guided driving tour through South LA, with time to step out and walk through Leimert Park Village.
As you travel through the Crenshaw corridor and surrounding neighborhoods, you will see iconic murals and public art, historic and architecturally significant homes, and well-known cultural landmarks. Through thoughtful storytelling and on-the-ground context, this tour brings to life the people, places, and moments that reflect the heartbeat of Black Los Angeles, past and present.

Guests will enjoy a guided driving experience through historic neighborhoods while learning about Black Hollywood, cultural institutions, and the evolution of the area.
Highlights include traveling through the Crenshaw District, passing sites connected to Black film and entertainment history, and exploring Inglewood, home to some of Los Angeles’ newest and most prominent stadiums. This tour provides broader historical context while connecting past and present-day South LA.

Designed for guests seeking an in-depth, visually rich exploration of urban art in Los Angeles, this signature private murals and monuments tour offers a curated journey through some of the city’s most powerful public art. Traveling across South LA and beyond, the experience reveals how murals, monuments, and street art reflect the history, cultural leaders, and social movements that have shaped Los Angeles.
From the Crenshaw District to Midcity to Downtown Los Angeles, Watts, and Compton, guests will encounter iconic works honoring figures such as Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle, alongside large-scale murals that define entire neighborhoods. Each stop is thoughtfully selected and contextualized, allowing the art and the city itself to tell its story.
The experience is primarily a guided driving tour covering approximately 35–45 miles roundtrip, with short walk-ups at select locations. Guests will have ample time for photography, reflection, and conversation throughout the day. This is a camera-ready outing, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
Pacing & Comfort:
Most of the tour takes place in the vehicle, making it accessible for a wide range of guests, including seniors and families. Walk-ups are brief and optional.
